COLOMBO, Sri Lanka – 25 August 2026 – ACL Plastics PLC, a leading manufacturer of cable-grade PVC compounds and a key subsidiary of ACL Cables PLC, has announced exceptional financial performance for the fiscal year ended 31st March 2026. The company’s Annual Report, released on 24th August 2026, showcases significant growth in revenue and profitability, attributing its success to a robust economic recovery in Sri Lanka and strategic operational excellence.

Stellar Financial Performance Underpins Strong Growth

The Annual Report highlights a landmark year for ACL Plastics, with key financial indicators demonstrating substantial improvements:

  • Revenue: Surged by 17% to Rs. 2,851 million in FY 2025/26, up from Rs. 2,441 million in the previous year.
  • Gross Profit: Witnessed a remarkable 53% increase to Rs. 880 million, compared to Rs. 575 million in FY 2024/25.
  • Profit Before Tax: Reached Rs. 1,110 million, a substantial rise from Rs. 672 million.
  • Profit After Tax: Soared by an impressive 72% to Rs. 798 million, from Rs. 465 million.

  • Market Value Per Share: Stood at Rs. 131.25 as of March 31, 2026, reflecting investor confidence.

Leveraging a Favourable Economic Environment

The company’s management attributed this strong performance to a highly favourable operating environment. Sri Lanka’s economy demonstrated a powerful consolidation of its recovery in 2025, with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growing by approximately 4.5%. This was coupled with inflation stabilising at single-digit levels, increased foreign exchange reserves (USD 5.2 billion), and a relatively stable Sri Lankan Rupee, all contributing to a more predictable cost environment for manufacturers.

A significant demand driver was the construction sector, which expanded by 12% in 2025, supported by government-led urban development programs, a vibrant private real estate market, and the full resumption of large-scale infrastructure projects. The Ceylon Electricity Board’s (CEB) accelerated grid expansion and electrification programmes also played a crucial role in boosting demand for cables and, consequently, PVC compounds.

Pioneering Sustainability Through a Circular Economy

ACL Plastics PLC continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable manufacturing. The Annual Report highlights significant progress in embedding circular economy principles into its operations. The expanded raw material recycling programme successfully reintegrated post-industrial PVC scrap into the production cycle, reducing waste, lowering input costs, and minimizing environmental impact.

Furthermore, the company’s strategic product portfolio expansion beyond the traditional cable industry into sectors like plumbing, agriculture, telecommunications infrastructure, and shoe manufacturing gained strong traction, opening new revenue streams and reducing customer concentration risk.

Strategic Outlook and Future Commitments

Looking ahead, ACL Plastics PLC approaches FY 2026/27 with cautious optimism. While acknowledging potential macroeconomic headwinds such as rising raw material costs and Rupee volatility, the company is confident in its strengthened financial position, diversified product portfolio, and advanced circular economy initiatives. The Board and management are focused on protecting margins, investing in technology, talent, and sustainable manufacturing practices to maintain competitive leadership and create lasting value for shareholders and stakeholders.

Chairman U. G. Madanayake stated, “This has been our greatest year and together, we intend to surpass it,” reinforcing the company’s ambitious vision. Managing Director Suren Madanayake echoed this sentiment, emphasizing, “Our goal is to grow ACL Plastics into a leading plastic solutions company that is recognised not just for the quality of its products, but for the responsibility with which they are made.”
