Pioneering Innovation and Strategic Expansion
The Annual Report details several landmark achievements and strategic initiatives that advanced Asiri Health’s mission to deliver world-class healthcare:
- Sri Lanka’s First Robotic Surgery Programme: A defining achievement of the year, this initiative positions Asiri at the forefront of next-generation surgical care, offering greater precision, faster recovery, and improved patient outcomes.
- Asiri Liver Transplant Centre: The establishment of a dedicated unit has introduced liver transplantation as a new surgical service, supported by intensive monitoring and multidisciplinary management.
- Enhanced Specialised Care: Continued investments strengthened capabilities in tertiary and quaternary care across transplant medicine, advanced cardiovascular services, neurosciences, oncology, and diagnostic medicine.
- Regional Outreach: Asiri’s regional hospitals, including Kandy, Galle, and Matara, expanded their specialised care offerings. Notably, Asiri Hospital Matara commissioned the first Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in the Matara District, significantly improving access to advanced cardiac diagnostics and interventional procedures in Southern Sri Lanka.

Commitment to Quality, Governance, and Sustainability
Asiri Hospital Holdings PLC reiterated its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and governance:
- Accreditations: All Group hospitals continue to meet global accreditation standards set by the Joint Commission International (JCI) and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI). Asiri Laboratories maintained ISO certification for diagnostic precision.
- Brand Recognition: Asiri Central Hospital was ranked No. 1 in LMD’s Most Loved Hospital Brands for 2025, with Asiri Surgical Hospital and Asiri Health also featuring in the Top 10, highlighting strong public trust.

Navigating Challenges and Future Outlook
Despite an improving macroeconomic environment, the Group faced challenges such as exchange rate volatility, elevated utility costs, and the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah in November 2025. The cyclone resulted in an estimated revenue loss of LKR 167.96 million and asset loss of LKR 13.01 million, which was assessed as a material impact under the Group’s climate risk assessment methodology. Nevertheless, Asiri Health delivered uninterrupted services and maintained its growth trajectory.
Looking ahead, Asiri plans further strategic investments, including the development of a purpose-built standalone oncology hospital, expected to be completed by Q2 2029. The Group is also strategically positioning itself to capture a greater share of the medical tourism market, particularly from Bangladesh, Maldives, and Seychelles, leveraging its internationally accredited hospitals and specialised clinical capabilities through a newly established International Patient Centre (IPC).
Asiri Hospital Holdings PLC remains committed to shaping the future of healthcare in Sri Lanka through innovation, compassion, and an unwavering pursuit of clinical excellence, fostering a healthier and more prosperous future for all stakeholders.
