Namunukula Plantations PLC recorded impressive financial growth for the fiscal year 2025/26:

  • Revenue: Surged by nearly 19% to an impressive Rs. 4.98 billion, up from Rs. 4.19 billion in the previous year. This growth was primarily fueled by favourable commodity prices, enhanced estate productivity, and improved operational efficiencies.
  • Gross Profit: Increased significantly to Rs. 2.33 billion from Rs. 1.80 billion in FY 2024/25, reflecting enhanced profitability and stringent cost management.
  • Profit Before Tax (PBT): Rose by approximately 23% to Rs. 2.65 billion, compared to Rs. 2.15 billion in the prior year.
  • Profit After Tax (PAT): Reached Rs. 1.88 billion, demonstrating the company’s ability to convert strong operational performance into robust bottom-line results.
  • Earnings Per Share (EPS): Stood at Rs. 7.91, a notable increase from the restated Rs. 6.43 in FY 2024/25, following a 1:10 share subdivision.
  • Dividend Per Share (DPS): Declared at Rs. 2.00, an increase from the restated Rs. 1.50 in the previous year, highlighting the company’s commitment to delivering enhanced shareholder value.
  • Total Assets & Market Capitalization: The company’s total asset base expanded to Rs. 15.9 billion (from Rs. 14.0 billion), with market capitalization reaching Rs. 15.89 billion (from Rs. 9.04 billion), signifying growing investor confidence.

NPPLC’s diversified portfolio of tea, oil palm, rubber, coconut, and cinnamon proved instrumental in absorbing market shocks and environmental pressures. Capital investments for the year amounted to Rs. 214 million, focused on field development, factory improvements, and mechanization, ensuring long-term yield sustainability and operational efficiency. A notable shift in investment towards Motor Vehicles (Rs. 56.55 million) reflected renewed emphasis on logistics efficiency and fleet modernization across its 18 estates.

Pioneering Sustainability and Digital Transformation

In a significant stride towards greater accountability and accessibility, NPPLC’s 8th Integrated Annual Report aligns with global sustainability benchmarks, integrating the SLFRS S1 (Sustainability-related Financial Information) and SLFRS S2 (Climate-related Disclosures) frameworks. This marks the second year of adopting these rigorous standards.

The company’s commitment to inclusivity is evident with the release of a Braille version of its Integrated Annual Report, available upon request, ensuring accessibility for all individuals. Furthermore, NPPLC has embraced digital transformation by launching a dedicated Annual Report website, a documentary series, AI-powered assistance, and an interactive PDF version, enhancing stakeholder engagement and transparency.

Environmentally, NPPLC achieved a remarkable 11.08% reduction in total verified Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions to 3,769.45 tCO2e in FY 2025/26. This was supported by a 14% decrease in Scope 1 emissions, driven by continuous improvements in energy efficiency and responsible resource management. The company is actively pursuing opportunities in renewable energy integration, eco-tourism, and carbon sequestration.

Socially, NPPLC maintained a 50% female representation in its workforce and significantly increased average training hours per employee to 10.2 (from 3.4 hours in FY 2024/25). Investments in community projects, including housing, education support, and healthcare access, underscore the company’s dedication to enriching the lives of its estate communities. Notably, the company reported zero incidents of non-compliance with health and safety regulations, reflecting its strong commitment to employee well-being.
