Union Chemicals Lanka PLC Issues Errata: Corrects Public Holding Percentage in Q1 2026 Financial Statements

Colombo, Sri Lanka – 21 September 2026: Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (UCL) today announced an errata to its Financial Statements for the quarter ended 25th June 2026. The company has identified and corrected an inadvertent error pertaining to the public holding percentage and the number of public shareholders previously reported in its quarterly financial disclosures to the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).

The amendment, issued through its Secretaries and Registrars, JACEY & COMPANY, underscores the company’s commitment to regulatory compliance and transparency for its investors and the wider market. The original document, addressed to Ms. Nilupa Perera, Chief Regulatory Officer of the CSE, outlines the precise nature of the correction.

Details of the Correction

According to the errata, specifically concerning Note 1.9 to the said Financial Statements, the initially published figures for the company’s public holding were inaccurate. The Financial Statements had incorrectly indicated the public holding percentage as 11.64% and the number of public shareholders as 1,092.

The corrected figures reveal a substantial adjustment, with the accurate public holding percentage now stated as 29.01% and the correct number of public shareholders at 1,091. A relevant page of the Quarterly Financial Statements, reflecting these updated figures, was forwarded with the errata.

No Impact on Other Financials

Crucially, JACEY & COMPANY confirmed that these corrections are isolated and do not have any impact on other information disclosed in the Financial Statements concerned or any other material aspects thereof. The revision is solely confined to the public holding data, ensuring that the overall financial performance and position remain as previously reported.

Compliance with CSE Listing Rules

With the corrected public holding percentage of 29.01% and 1,091 public shareholders, Union Chemicals Lanka PLC continues to comply with Option 5 of the CSE Listing Rules 7.13.1 (a). This rule stipulates that listed companies must maintain a minimum public holding of more than 20% and have more than 500 public shareholders, criteria which UCL comfortably meets with the revised figures.

Company Acknowledges Inaccuracy

Union Chemicals Lanka PLC, through its registrars, expressed regret for the inadvertent inaccuracy. The company reiterated its commitment to accuracy and transparency, assuring stakeholders that measures will be taken to prevent similar errors in future reporting.
